Bella was the late wife of Arthur Lester, and mother of Faroe.

Bella met Arthur in school, presumably university. After meeting Arthur, she "lost interest" in higher education, and became a seamstress.[1][2]
Arthur eventually reveals to John that Faroe's mother passed away during childbirth. He also denies having been married, stating that he was "young and with someone," [3] although Bella is referred to by Daniel and Kayne as Arthur's wife. Kayne seems to imply that their relationship was not a loving one, stating "I watched you grow, you graduate, you fall in love! Or...like- let's call it like." [4] Her name is not revealed until later in the same episode.
Arthur was getting drunk at a bar when Bella was giving birth to Faroe. He argued with his friend James about how his relationship with Bella was "wrong." Arthur states Faroe was born an hour early, so by the time Arthur got to the hospital Bella had been dead, and Faroe alone in the hospital, for an hour.[5]
